Bandar Lampung, June 12, 2023 – The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) at UIN Raden Intan has begun international conference with the theme “Islamic Business for Environment and Sustainable Development Towards Attaining Social Wellbeing” on Monday, June 12, 2023. The event aims to discuss the role of Islamic businesses in environmental conservation and promoting sustainable development that contributes to social welfare.
The three-day international conference is attended by prominent experts, practitioners, and academics from various countries. They have gathered to share knowledge, experiences, and innovative ideas in the context of environmentally friendly and sustainable Islamic businesses. Today, the international conference started with online parallel sessions featuring a total of 60 papers, not only from Indonesia but also from abroad, including Turkey, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, the Philippines, and Thailand.
In his opening speech, Dean of FEBI UIN Raden Intan, Prof. Dr. Tulus Suryanto, S.E., M.M., Akt., C.A, emphasized the importance of environmental preservation and the development of sustainable business practices within the framework of Islamic values. He stated that Islamic businesses should be a driving force for positive change and contribute to social welfare at both the local and global levels.
Throughout the conference, various important topics are being discussed, including Green Islamic Marketing, Halal Security Food, Enviromental Islamic Corporate Governance And Organizational, Green Islamic Economics, Smart Technology For Halal Tourism, and Sustainable Design For Inclusive Islamic Business. Presenters highlight the importance of integrating Islamic principles with modern business practices to create economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable solutions.
This international conference is expected to serve as a starting point to inspire business practitioners, academics, and the general public in implementing sustainable Islamic business principles. It is also hoped that the discussions and recommendations from this conference will make a tangible contribution to efforts in achieving a better environment and greater social welfare.
